(NOTE: This is a personal page for family and friends, separate from this website, thank you.)
Most of the photos below were taken by our dear and very talented friend Howard Gotfryd, along with a few lovely additions by Daniel’s sister, Coleen O’Shea-Anderson.
MUSIC: Our friends John and Marilyn Wagner went the extra mile to provide excellent sound quality, and blocking, and created a wonderful repertoire of songs for our cocktail party.
The ceremony took place at St. Ann’s Episcopal Church in Brooklyn Heights, NY. We were accompanied by close family and local friends for an intimate marriage, officiated by a wonderful spirit, Rev. Katherine Salisbury.
We were also honored by a visit from a robin (see last photo) who landed upon a church candlestick at flame’s edge and pushed off deftly to steal the show! The little guy visited Kate once more the next day on the second floor, then flew happily out the church window to its freedom. What a lovely metaphor to consider.
Thanks again to all of our guests, and intended guests! We so appreciate your joyful spirit, and your understanding, during this unusual time in our world.
Featured here (in order):
The Rev. Katherine Salisbury of St. Ann’s Episcopal Church: her beautiful officiating, and her guidance through our original date, our cancellation and modification, is deeply appreciated!
Daniel O’Shea: The Groom
Thomas O’Shea: Daniel’s brother and Best Man: (and now my brother-in-law!) He MC’d our toasts and entertained us all with poise and humor.
Francis O’Shea: Daniel’s brother and Best Man: (and now my brother-in-law!) He walked B down the aisle in style!
Barbara Bowen: The Bride
Grace Lee-O’Shea: My sister-in-law, married to Thomas: She “house managed” the whole service with cheerfulness, and led for us: “I Corinthians 13”
Coleen O’Shea: My sister-in-law: She led for us: “A Prayer of St. Francis” and she and her husband, David Anderson, acted as witnesses for the church record.
Marilyn and John Wagner: Our dear friend over 30 years: Marilyn led for us the beautiful “Prayers for the People,” and lent her expertise to our musical design. John engineered all of our music and made beautiful selections for our cocktail party.
On ZOOM: B’s cherished brothers and sisters-in-law: Robert/Susan Bowen, Peter/Marsha Bowen and two (intended) Matrons of Honor: Kandice Heppler and Sandra Dawson, who are like family to B. Each of them contributed toasts and poems we will always treasure.
Howard Gotfryd and Vivian Epstein: Our dear friends over 22 years: Howard led excepts from the Pauline Letters and he shot some amazing stills for us during and after the service. (since he was shooting the photos, so we have no stills of him reading.)
